About Us

Centennial Exterior.jpg

Officially opening its doors in 1966, Centennial Theatre was built to commemorate the centennial celebrations of Canada. Since that time, Centennial Theatre has been home to many community and professional organizations including North Shore Light Opera, Uncle Randy Productions, Sinfonia - Orchestra of the North Shore, many local schools and dance schools.

Centennial Theatre is a 705 seat municipally managed theatre and is owned by the City of North Vancouver, and operated by the North Vancouver Recreation Commission under a Joint Use By-Law with operating funds from both the City and the District of North Vancouver.

Centennial Theatre is continuing to expand its presenting season, as well as remaining a supportive rental venue for many community organizations. We are visited by between 100,000 and 120,000 patrons and performers each year.

Generations of North Shore families have been performers and audience members at Centennial Theatre, and we look forward to generations more.
