‘Dark Side of the Moon:
A Piece for Assorted Lunatics’, as it was
then known, was first performed at the
Rainbow Theatre in London on February 17, 1972
- more than a year before it was actually released.
The music critics loved it. The London Times
described it as "... bringing tears to the eyes.
It was so completely understanding and
musically questioning." Touching on some
profound themes including mental illness,
conflict, greed, and the space time continuum,
the album became a huge success, remaining
on the charts for longer than any other album in history.
Classic Albums Live brings together
some of the country's finest musicians
to re-create live on stage the exact
sounds of the greatest albums of the
60s and 70s. Note for note.Cut for cut.
They will bring in a sitar player, a children's
